Mokoko is a bakery specialising in beautiful Viennoiserie and naturally leavened breads. You’re welcome to sit in with us, whilst watching our bakers at their craft, surrounded by the aroma of fresh baking or take a treat home with you to enjoy.

Viennoiserie

We believe Viennoiserie is one of life’s true pleasures, with its roots tracing back to Vienna and France. These classic pastries have stood the test of time for good reason; We laminate layers of freshly rolled pastry, with butter from cows that graze on nutrient-rich fields. Gentle resting, proofing and baking combine to produce a beautiful flaky exterior, pillowy soft interior and delicate nutty flavour. Try not to fall in love too quickly!

We love 'Real Bread' and wouldn’t make anything else. We believe bread should always be free from nasties such as chemical raising agents, processing aids or additives. Our Sourdough only contains what real Sourdough should, Flour, Water & Salt, leavened using only a live sourdough culture, also known as the Mother Dough. Once you’ve tried the real stuff you won’t want to go back!

Through the day

We bake throughout the day, so it’s always as fresh as can be. In the morning, you’ll find warm bread and pastries. At lunch, we introduce sandwiches made from bread baked just a couple of hours earlier. In the afternoon, we offer indulgent treats, including cookies and freshly filled pastries.

Through the year

Our menu evolves through the year depending on what’s good at the time. What nature provides, we make use of. Spring brings rhubarb and purple sprouting broccoli, summer sees soft berries like strawberries and raspberries, autumn and winter introduce squash, artichokes, apples and more. So when damson plums are in season, that’s what goes into our fruit Danish.
